Join us in 2027 for the Leadership, Policy & the Profession Conference, FACCC's annual conference where faculty, academic senate and union leaders, student advocates, and colleagues from categorically funded programs come together to connect, collaborate, and explore the future of California community colleges. This conference offers the chance to connect with peers from across the state, participate in engaging professional development sessions, and hear directly from top decision-makers on policy and budget.

The 2027 Leadership, Policy & the Profession Conference will be held at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento, located at 1230 J Street in downtown Sacramento.  

As Dean of Berkeley Law and the Jesse H. Choper Distinguished Professor of Law, Erwin Chemerinsky is widely recognized as one of the country’s leading experts on constitutional law, higher education, academic freedom, civil rights, and the role of the courts in shaping public policy. His insight and scholarship make him one of the most influential voices in legal education today. 

Before joining Berkeley Law in 2017, Dean Chemerinsky was the founding dean of the University of California, Irvine School of Law and previously taught at Duke University, the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, and DePaul University College of Law.

He is the author of 22 books and more than 200 law review articles, including Campus Speech and Academic Freedom: A Guide for Difficult Times (2026), which explores one of the most pressing issues facing colleges and universities today.  His decades of scholarship, teaching, and leadership earned him widespread acclaim, including recognition as the most influential person in legal education by National Jurist magazine.
