Bringing Community Back to Community CollegesThe FACCC Policy Forum will center on bringing community back to California's community colleges. The forum will include a panel featuring influential faculty, student, and elected state leaders who will share perspectives on strengthening the colleges' mission to support the multifaceted needs of local communities statewide. After the panel discussion, attendees are invited to engage in solutions-oriented dialogue on their vision for community colleges serving diverse populations through reliable, equitable funding and supportive policies. This conversation will focus on restoring the original purpose of our community colleges - delivering an essential public good. Join FACCC for this inspiring event reinforcing the importance of California’s community colleges in empowering students to achieve academic, career, and personal growth that in turn fosters economic and cultural enrichment in our communities and throughout California far into the future. We are thrilled to announce our distinguished panel: James McKeever, President, AFT 1521 Los Angeles 24 College Faculty Guild Liz Ortega, Assemblymember, District 20 Madison Harris, Region VIII Legislative Affairs Director, SSCCC Patrick Ahrens, President of Board of Trustees, Foothill-De Anza Community College District This is a no-cost event for all faculty members.
